The ‘Mitzvah Manager’ Trap

How to Stop Nagging Your 13-Year-Old

If you are the one calling the non-profit, keeping the calendar, and writing the emails, I have a hard truth: It’s your Mitzvah project, not theirs.

I get it. You’re busy, they’re procrastinating, and the date is looming. But this friction is the #1 joy-killer of the B’nai Mitzvah year. My goal at Mitzvah Jamie is to fire you from the role of “Project Manager.”

By putting the student in a small group or 1-on-1 coaching with a “not-their-parent” mentor (that’s me), the dynamic changes. They take ownership because the accountability is to their peers and their mentor, not their beloved parents. Give yourself the gift of just being the “Proud Parent” for a change.
