Making Sure the Mitzvah Doesn’t End at the Party
We’ve all seen it. The party ends, the centerpieces are packed up, and the Mitzvah project is never mentioned again. It feels like a “one-and-done.”
But if we design projects using Systems Thinking, we build something that lasts. I help students create “Part 2” plans. Maybe they’ve trained a younger student to take over their initiative, or maybe they’ve built a relationship with a community leader that will turn into a high school internship.
The goal isn’t just to “do a project.” It’s to help your child realize that “Mitzvah” isn’t a graduation requirement, it’s a lifestyle. We want them walking off that bimah knowing that they have the tools to change things whenever they see something that isn’t right.
