Small Group

Mitzvah Lab

Middle schoolers thrive in community. The Small Group Mitzvah Lab pairs the power of peer collaboration with our proven 6-week Action-to-Impact framework.

In this dynamic “think-tank” setting, students bounce ideas off one another, offer fresh perspectives, and find inspiration in their peers’ passion, turning the planning process into a high-energy social experience.

Best for: Students who love brainstorming, social learners, and those who want to see their values reflected in a community of peers.

1-on-1

Mitzvah Lab

For students who want a bespoke pace or have a highly specific vision, the 1-on-1 Mitzvah Lab provides undivided professional mentorship.

We navigate the 6-week Action-to-Impact framework through personalized sessions tailored to your child’s unique learning style and schedule. This format allows for deeper research, intensive brainstorming, and a high-touch coaching relationship that maximizes student ownership.

Best for: Busy athletes or performers with tight schedules, students who prefer focused attention, students with specific learning needs, or those tackling complex, multi-layered projects.

Additional Services

Because a great plan is only the beginning, I offer specialized add-on services to support students and their families during the execution of their project and beyond.

Whether your child needs Implementation Coaching to troubleshoot real-world obstacles, help aligning their Mitzvah Project with their D’var Torah speech, a Post-Project Reflection session and/or video recap to document their impact, these services provide an extra layer of expert guidance.

Best for: Families seeking end-to-end support from the first “Spark” to the final ceremony and beyond.

A close-up, overhead view of a beautifully curated “identity and impact” workspace on a smooth, light wood table. At the center lies an open notebook with crisp pages filled with neatly written reflections about personal passions and community needs, highlighted in different colors. Surrounding it are symbolic objects: a simple wooden Star of David pendant, a small globe with rich blue oceans, a pair of noise-canceling headphones, and printed cards labeled “Jewish values,” “community,” and “voice.” A slim tablet displays a minimalist infographic about Tikkun Olam. Soft, warm pendant lighting from above creates gentle, focused pools of light and delicate shadows, setting a contemplative yet modern mood. Photographic realism, top-down composition with balanced negative space, emphasizing clarity, intention, and the intersection of identity and service, with no people visible.

The Mitzvah Jamie Method

The Mitzvah Jamie framework empowers students to move from a blank slate to a leadership legacy through six intentional phases:

Identity & Values: Students explore the questions “Who am I and what do I care about?” to root their work in personal truth.

Root Cause & Goal Setting: Students investigate the “why” behind the problem to set meaningful, measurable objectives.

Research & Power: We map out who has the influence to help and identify the real-world obstacles standing in the way.

Systems & Organizing: We build the logistical blueprint, turning a big vision into a clear, manageable plan.

Alignment & Impact: We refine the strategy to ensure every action remains true to the student’s core values and intended impact.

Success & Reflection: Students finalize the details and prepare to share their unique story of Tikkun Olam with their community.
